What is Genetic Counselling?

Genetic Counselling starts with a conversation, with a qualified expert in genetic health, to discuss your personal and family history, your concerns, and how genetics may relate to your health and your family’s health.
During a genetic counselling appointment, we’ll review your personal and family health history, and understand how this information could affect your healthcare, pregnancy, or family members. We'll talk about whether genetic testing could be helpful, and explore what test results may mean for you and your loved ones. You can ask questions, share what matters most to you, and take the time you need to understand your options.
Genetic counselling is not just about genes or tests, it focuses on giving you clear, personalized information, and supportive guidance, so that you can make informed decisions that feel right for you and your family.
